The Mahim Dargah is a place of religious worship for both Hindus and Muslims. The shrine of Makhtum Fakir Ali Paru, the Sufi saint, is revered by both communities. Every year, the Urs festival is held at the Dargah to commemorate his life and teachings. During this festival, devotees from all over India come to pay their respects and offer prayers. The Dargah also organizes various religious activities to spread the message of peace and harmony.
In honour of Hazrat Makhdum Fakih Ali Mahimi (R.A.), for the past many years, Annual Mela has been observed over a period of ten days in and around the month of December, one million visitors attend the said fair. The highlight of the Mela is the arrival of a series of processions with old-fashioned lanterns and music (Duff), mostly on Thursday and Sunday, the leader of which stop to make their obeisance to the saint. On the first day itself, a crowd of 1,00,000 gathers to watch the very first procession.
