National Integration Programme

On February 27, 2008, the Trustees of the Pir Makhdum Saheb Charitable Trust /WAKF organized a formal gathering amongst the various communities. Twenty-seven international delegates of the Congregation of Christian Brothers came from different nations to promote national unity.

Notable personalities from Mumbai, including doctors, lawyers, writers, professors, teachers, social workers, students, media personalities, and corporate representatives, attended the Interaction program. Ashraf Akil Shaikh, a legal representative, was the organizer of this event.

American Mayors Visited Mahim Dargah 2018

On February 15, 2018, some American mayors and officers travelling to India paid homage to the Sacred Saint Hazrat Makhdum Fakih Ali Mahimi (R.A.) at Mahim Dargah and observed the manifold projects conducted by the Trust of the shrine. This delegation from abroad consists of the following people:

  1.  Tom Tait, Mayor of Anaheim, California
  2.  Greg Fischer, Mayor of Louisville, Kentucky
  3.  Katie Dailinger, Deputy Chief of Staff, City of Louisville, Kentucky
  4.  Dr. Muhammad Babar from Muslim Americans for Compassion, City of Louisville, Kentucky
  5.  Farah Pandith, Head of Strategy at the Institute for Strategic SD
  6.  Rebecca Skellett, ISD Strong Cities Network (SCN) Senior Manager
  7.  Michael Duffin, State Department CT/CVE Policy Adviser
  8. Christopher Grossman, Consul for Political and Economic Affairs, US Consulate, Mumbai

 

The local attendees include people from diverse backgrounds and professions of all religions. They all conversed with the guests about “unity and diversity,” presenting a full feel of Mumbai to the honored guests. The Mayors and other US officials were taken aback by the cultural blending in Mumbai and delighted to see that all societal leaders were present on the shared stage of Makhdum Shah Baba Dargah.
