The library and research center of Mahim Dargah is dedicated to promoting knowledge and understanding of Sufism and its teachings. It organizes seminars, workshops, lectures, and conferences on various topics related to Sufism. It also provides books, magazines, and other materials.
Trust houses an extensive Library full of books on varying languages diving into topics such as Islamic Heritage, Sufism, and more. Its primary objective is researching and publishing the works surrounding Hazrat Makhdum Fakih Ali Mahimi (R.A.), along with previously written texts by him. With the intention of disseminating the views and teachings given by Hazrat Makhdum Fakih Ali Mahimi (R.A.), some books have been put out by the trust, and some are in the process of being printed. The published editions are generously distributed free of charge to devotional readers. They also assist in hosting seminars devoted to Sufism and offer monetary aid to learners desiring admission into university for a PHD regarding the life and writings of Makhdum Ali Mahimi.

The Arabic Department at the University of Mumbai held a seminar in recognition of Pir Makhdum Fakih Ali Mahimi (R.A.), entitled the “First Hazrat Makhdum Fakih Ali Mahimi (R.A.) Memorial Lecture,” focused on social change and its significance, on Saturday, April 27, 2013. Professor Sayed Iqbal, academician and journalist, delivered the lecture, presided over by Prof. Abdus Sattar Dalvi, a significant Urdu scholar. Mr. Muhammad Suhail Khadwani, Managing Trustee of the PIR MAKHDUM SAHEB CHARITABLE TRUST/WAKF, was honoured as the event’s Chief Guest. These plans were made by Prof. Dr. Saheb Ali, with the focal point for discussion being the good implications derived from education within society.
Moreover, Mr. Khandwani offered his thanks to the university and pledged his unreserved assistance for establishing the “Makhdum Ali Mahimi Chair” in Mumbai University. A committee was also set up to supervise this work.
